Description

UC Cosmos is a four-week program hosted by the University of California, in which high school students reside at a UC Campus (Davis, Santa Cruz, Irvine, or San Diego) to attend a STEM class taught by UC faculty. During the 2022 summer, I went to UC Santa Cruz to study Number Theory and Discrete Math. In addition to class, I attended daily lectures to learn about ongoing research across a wide range of scientific fields.

UCSC Campus

UC Santa Cruz is a beautiful campus, with the majority of its land being forest! Below are some photos of the campus.

The Upper East Field at UC Santa Cruz, a place I would frequent in my free time. There is a scenic jogging track on the perimeter of the field. My math class was taught in McHenry library.
In addition to the vast forest at the center of campus, UC Santa Cruz also has an arboretum.
Foggy morning on campus
UC Santa Cruz has many bridges on campus; this bridge was one of two bridges I would cross everyday while walking to class
